Litho Craft: 1966-1981

The birth of Seattle’s independent printer, began in 1966 with a commitment to service and quality.

Litho Craft was founded in 1954 in the Eastlake area of Seattle. What began as a plate regraining and supplies business soon evolved into a small offset supplier of negatives, plates and typesetting. In 1966 Litho Craft became incorporated, and in the same year Bill Webber established himself as part owner. As the business grew, printing presses were added and in 1972 the original owners sold their stock to Bill Webber.

Litho Craft ceased being a trade shop in 1977, entered the commercial market and Gary Cone joined the team as General Manager. With the addition of the first 4-color 12x18 press in the Seattle area, Litho Craft had a unique market niche.

Litho Craft’s sales and product offerings continued to grow resulting in the ongoing purchase of new presses, folders, cutters and pre-press equipment. Therefore space was limited in the Eastlake building and Litho Craft needed to move to a larger facility in the Greenwood area in 1981.

Litho Craft: 1982-Now

At Litho Craft, we are proud of our independent legacy, but we have a fresh outlook on the future.

Litho Craft entered the UV coating market in 1984 with the brand name Ultrakote, and operated the first roller coating machine in Seattle. Because of its popularity in the Northwest, a second coater was installed in the Portland area in 1991.

The purchase of a state-of-the-art 40" 6-color press highlighted the year in 2001 along with moving the company to Lynnwood. This move allowed for the continued expansion of the business and the ability to create a cutting edge printing plant.

For over 50 years, Litho Craft has continuously built a company and team of products and services that are customer driven. Our ongoing local ownership by the Webber family, commitment to people, integrity, and technological superiority, position us as the printer you can count on for the next 50 years.
